« Durbuy Adventure » has obtained his « unique licence ».
Joseph and Mireille Charlier are more than proud: Durbuy Adventure is the first attraction park of the Province of Luxemburg that has obtained the "unique licence", which is a form of acknowledgment for the efforts undertaken by the managers to develop a project meeting the environmental and urbanistic standards. Nevertheless subject to previous authorisation in Wallonia, the classified entertaining activities must indeed respect the environment in large sense, whether it is a matter of discharge of water, the protection of species in their natural environment, the management of the wastes, the sound level. For instance no more question to practise quad in the forest massifs. So at Durbuy Adventure the entertaining activities are practised in a specific leisure space, situated out off the forest, agricultural, or natural protected areas.
The site chosen at Durbuy allows to organise and to practise legally not less than 60 activities such as paintball, climbing, archery, course in the trees, fishing, quad bikes, camping,. For sure all this costs money. " It's a matter of a very heavy financial investment, Joseph Charlier confirms, but it seems to us to be essential for the preservation of environment. I regret only that not all attraction parks are holders of this licence". In fact there are too much installations realised with low budget and without authorisation as has been confirmed in 2002 by the County Court of Marche-en-Famenne, which has sentenced a manager to dismantle his equipments in the trees.
To get through this "administrative course" with success and obtain the precious "Sesame open", Durbuy Adventure has leant on the services of the Chamber of Commerce of Belgian Luxemburg and a firm of architects, urbanistic experts, the Group E.A.U.. "At the start of the beautiful season, the obtaining of the unique licence is excellent news for Durbuy Adventure" has Joseph Charlier concluded. There is nevertheless a distinction between the professionals in the sector and those who do anything."
